EEO PUBLIC FILE REPORT

December 1, 2015 – December 31, 2016

III. RECRUITMENT INITIATIVES

  Type of Recruitment Initiative
(Menu Selection)
Brief Description of Activity

1 Participate in Job Fair On April 11, 2016, our SEU participated in the career fair entitled Job Fair 4-1-1 with The Day and the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT at Hilton Mystic, 20 Coogan Blvd, Mystic, CT.  Our SEU’s Market Manager attended this event and provided attendees with information about career opportunities in broadcasting as well as job and internship opportunities within the SEU.
2 Internship Program Our SEU hosts an on-going internship program that is designed to assist members of our community to acquire and develop the skills necessary for broadcast employment.  The day-to-day activities of the internship program remain fluid to accommodate each intern’s individual interests.

In order to participate in this Program, interns must be enrolled in an academic program that encourages this kind of participation and provides credit for the time they spend as an intern.

Our SEU’s Program Director oversees the Program, monitoring each intern’s progress and providing progress reports about performance to his or her respective school.

All student interns are exposed to the general operations of the stations and receive instruction in studio operation, digital editing, commercial production, voice technique, copy-writing for sales, sales proposals, engineering, overviews, equipment set-up, etc.  The training provided through the internship program exposes interns to the basics necessary for entry-level employment in the broadcast radio industry.

During this reporting period our SEU hosted one (1) student interns as follows:

January 2016-March 2016 – one (1) student from Waterford High School

[1] Radio License Holding CBC, LLC, had an agreement with Joule Broadcasting LLC, as Trustee, of Station WELJ(FM), Montauk, New York (Fac. ID 7996), to share employees with this SEU. WELJ(FM) was sold in November 2016 and as such this agreement no longer exists.

[2] This Report includes recruitment data from December 1, 2015 through Decmeber 31, 2016
